What are typical limitations in producing your fabrics?
The most important thing: we handle dozens of print designs every hour. We're not able to check every file to prevent mistakes from happening. Please read our limitations in printing fabrics and keep that in mind:
o Colors
Never trust your monitor: If the colors on your monitor don't print the way you expect, there's no way for us to know what colors you’re seeing on your screen and let you know they don’t match beforehand. Please do a test print in advance (20x20cm for 1,95€) or check for our color cards on the right.
o Resolution is too less
Stoff-Schmie.de produces a good quality print at our maximum resolution of 250 DPI. We give you a preview at 250 DPI regardless of the resolution saved
in your file.
You can activate an option at the manual upload to use
resolution and size from your original data.
Golden rule: 2000x2000 Pixel = 20x20cm in printed size.
o Very small details
Your designs has really tiny small details. Fabrics couldn't catch that filigran artwork which may be seen on the monitor. Just again: make a test print before you order running metres.
o Large design size
Your designs are as wide as the whole fabric. Please think of small stains and dots which could ruin a whole big panel if you use large desings.
o Exact geometric designs
10% of tolerance in width and length must be calculated in production of fabrics.
o Lighter colours on deep dark backgrounds
Be aware of white colours on black because they disappear very easily. They won't do that if they have enough space on the dark ground. Just check with a testprint.
o Little contrasts
The monitor shows much more colors then you could print on fabric. Colors that are similar to each other may blend together when printed without enough contrast. They become invisible on the fabric. Just check with a testprint.
o Monochrome prints
It's not a great idea to print just one colourway on fabric. Because we print them on a white fabric ground and it will always be different from dyed fabrics.
o Prints in centered repeat
Be careful that you use the right size in your uploaded files and check our print preview. Your print will be always produced as shown in the preview.

Hello dear Stoff Schmie,
I would like to create some fabrics with you.
Can you help me with file upload? As I understand, file should be:
250 dpi
JPEG
Should I export file as RGB or CMYK?
Many thanks!!
